The ÉIGSE 06 PARTY IN THE PARK is a weekend treat for all the family, with entertainment and activities to suit all ages!

DATE Sunday June 11
TIME 1pm to 6pm
LOCATION Carlow Town Park

Enjoy some great music by acts from Carlow and beyond on the music stage with live performances throughout the day by Autograph, Chadsko, Cormac O'Caoimh, Pzazz, and Tadhg Cooke by the river Barrow in Carlow Town Park:

Autograph are  Elton,  Paulie  and  Coade.  Their well crafted, driving pop songs enhanced by their three-part vocal harmonies will, no doubt, grab the attention of the masses over the coming months and  years.  Their live  debut  at  the  prestigious SpiegelTent (Dublin Fringe Festival 2005) led to an immediate management contract.

Chadsko are one of the top original unsigned bands in Ireland going strong since February 2005. They are a six-piece Derry band that create sweet funky toe-tapping  sounds  that  just make  you  want  to  shout ‘yeah!’

Cormac O Caoimh is a solo performer from Cork, ex singer-songwriter of The Citadels. Cormac (solo) has supported, Declan O Rourke, Josh Rouse, Mark  Geary, Nick Kelly, Freddie White, Mick Hanley and  Damien Dempsey to name but a few. He has also ventured further afield playing headline gigs and  slots in Edinburgh, London and New York.

Pzazz  are  four  sopranos  with  their  own  unique  brand  of  music.  Aoife,  Claire,  Fiona  and Mary  Frances met through producer Willie Hughes who  was looking for classically trained sopranos ready  to do something a little different. Instead of doing  the usual soprano standards, Pzazz play original  music that brings together classical voices, Latin  rhythms and pop melodies.

Tadhg Cooke is one of Ireland’s most interesting emerging recording artists. A seasoned performer, Cooke has shared the stage with the cream of the  Irish  crew:  Damien  Rice,  Glen Hansard,  Mundy,  Jerry Fish & The Mudbug Club and The Walls. He has also completed a nationwide tour with BellX1 and his jazz-tinged  acoustic  pop  has  been  described  as “eminently  likeable, utterly enviable” by The Irish Times.

The  PARTY  IN  THE  PARK  is  also  a  chance  to  catch  special  roaming performances by street  entertainment companies Bui Bolg, The Primitives and Diced  Carrots, who  feature throughout  the  festival in ÉIGSE OUTDOORS in association with  Fairgreen  Shopping  Centre, and  whose  mad-cap  antics will bring a smile to everyone’s face.

There will be performances by local musical groups,  face painters to entertain the kids, an opportunity  to raise money for charity with the Lions’ Club Duck  Race and the Carlow & South Leinster Rape Crisis  Centre Sponsored Walk.

So come on down and join in the party!
